When people tell me they could never homeschool because they could not be with their kids so much, I don’t know what to say. I like being with mine. Of course, I enjoy a date night, an MNO, going to the grocery store by myself sometimes and so forth. Yes, I lose my temper sometimes. However, we generally have a lovely time together and some great conversations. It is fascinating to hear some of the things that come out of their mouths. I’m thankful for the time we spend together and would not trade this lifestyle for more “me time”.

I agree and I am always a bit saddened when people say these things about their kids, especially right in front of them. What a twisted message. Why have kids?

Thanks for joining the discussion. It is a bit awkward as I don’t know how to respond. Our kids are amazing people!

I usually just do an awkward smile with eyebrows raised then move on. Afterwards, I will openly discuss with my kids what happened/was said and talk about why I don’t agree with that attitude because I’d hate for them to grow up and be moms/dads like that!

Yes, society has it all so wrong. I love staying home with them and watching them grow into amazing humans.
